Project I have collaborated on with other technical companies.
Scope |
Waste water systems are challenging. Pump selection requires careful consideration. For a winery we installed an end-suction pump with pressure capability. A large-surface-area suction strainer protects the impellers, while programmed frequency controller safeties prevent cavitation. |

I designed this drip irrigation pumping system from the Netherlands for Think Water Marlborough, who installed it in New Zealand. The multi-terraced vineyard requires varying pressures (8 bar for high areas, 3 bar for low). A frequency controller automatically adjusts pump pressure based on which terrace is being irrigated. |

Scope |
An established New Zealand wine brand upgraded their vineyard by replacing old vines and irrigation system. Think Water Marlborough removed old pipework and installed a new system with updated zone sizes. The existing narrow bore required an end suction pump upgrade instead of a bore pump, as water levels remained sufficient despite regional decline. |

Scope |
Design and installation of an automatic fertilizer mixing and filling system for Reijnpack B.V., a chicory grower in Zeeland, Netherlands. The system automatically fills IBC containers with either A/B nutrient solutions or acid/base solutions, using liquid fertilizer components stored in separate PE tanks. The system can be controlled through a PLC unit or computer interface. |

A 2.4km long pipeline was installed from a riverside bore to fill a dam reservoir. Due to no power at the remote pump site, a generator runs the pump temporarily. The installation required tunneling under a busy road and several creeks. The dam supplies water to a local vineyard. |

This client was a grower who had an existing vineyard. The existing well, which was the main water source, was producing poor water quality. A new well was drilled near the old well and I was fortunate enough to be given the task to design a new headworks. |

This client grows medicinal cannabis for symptom relief from various health conditions. As the first organic outdoor grower in New Zealand, this new company gave me freedom to design their drip irrigation system from scratch - an engineer's ideal scenario. The system features premium components: automatic filtration, Netafim dripline, Australian dosing equipment and Dutch controls. |

A farmer converted part of his land into a vineyard, requiring integration of an existing manual river pump into a new automated irrigation system. The system features galvanised steel components for durability and longevity. It includes automated dam filling, irrigation, and fertigation, all controllable via the Galcon platform on mobile or desktop. |

This client grows medicinal cannabis for symptom relief. They invested in premium equipment, including Dutch fertilizer dosing and control systems. Fitting the irrigation system into the existing building required extensive design work to navigate rooms and obstacles, but the result was worth it. |

A well-established Marlborough grape grower decided to convert 80 hectares of farmland into vineyard. With no water source on the property, a well was drilled by the river 1km away, using a submersible pump to fill a new dam reservoir. The vineyard's drip irrigation system is managed by a Motorola IRRInet controller, with radio-controlled field valves due to the project's scale. |
