Pumping System Project

65m3/h Drip Irrigation Pump System Vineyard

February 04, 20251 min read

Scope

From my office in the Netherlands, Think Water Marlborough allowed me to design this drip irrigation pumping system that will irrigate a vineyard in New Zealand. They did a great job installing and commissioning it.

The vineyard has terraces at different heights, requiring high pressure (8 bar) for irrigating elevated areas and low pressure (3 bar) for lower terraces. A frequency controller works with the irrigation controller to automatically adjust the multistage pump's pressure based on which terrace is being irrigated. Cool project!
