Water Pumping Project

90m3/h Dam Reservoir Filling System

December 16, 20241 min read

Scope

This exciting project in New Zealand involved the installation of a 2.4km pipeline to fill a dam reservoir from a riverside bore. The main challenge was the lack of power at the remote pump location. A generator now runs the pump until the main power grid gets extended to this area. The pipeline installation was tricky too, as we needed to go under a busy road and several running creeks.

A steel headworks is installed at the bore site next to the river, which was the starting point of the water distribution system. When they completed the install and the technicians finally turned on the pump, it was super rewarding to see the water traveling through the entire 2.4km pipeline and flowing into the dam reservoir. This system now provides essential water supply to a local vineyard.
